Celebrity News Today covers celebrity, entertainment and pop culture news. We move fast, but we do not make things up. These are the rules every story follows.
We credit the outlet that broke the story
Most of what we publish was first reported by another newsroom, a studio, a network, a label, or the people involved. Every story names that source and links to it, usually in the first few lines and again at the end. If you want the original reporting, it is one click away.
What we will report
- News a named, established outlet has reported under its own name, such as People, Us Weekly, Page Six, TMZ, E! News, Entertainment Tonight, Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, Deadline, Billboard or Entertainment Weekly.
- Anything the person, their representative, a studio, network, label or a court filing has confirmed.
- Official announcements: casting, release dates, tours, renewals, awards and nominations.
What we will not report
- Claims about crimes, drug use, illness, pregnancy or sexual conduct, unless the person, their representative or a court document confirms them.
- Anything about minors.
- Dating, breakup or feud claims that rest only on unnamed insiders.
- Rumors that no established outlet has reported under its own name, death hoaxes, and claims based on edited or AI-generated images or video.
Reports are labeled as reports
When a story is reported but not yet confirmed by the people involved, we say so plainly: “People reports,” not “it is true.” When a representative declines to comment, we say that too.
Images
We do not publish AI-generated images of real people. Our story images are editorial illustrations in our house style, unless a photo is clearly credited to its owner.
How our stories are produced
Our newsroom uses software to find the day’s entertainment news and to draft stories. Each draft is written only from the original reporting it credits, and the editorial rules above apply to every story.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we fix it and note the correction on the story. See our Corrections page to report an error.
