The Iron Maiden North American tour returns in 2027 for the third and final leg of Run for Your Lives, according to Billboard, which reported that the heavy metal legends announced the dates on Friday, Oct. 16. The run starts April 14 in Tacoma, Washington, and ends May 11 in Belmont Park, New York, with Bullet For My Valentine and The Raven Age as special guests.
The trek closes out the band’s 50th-anniversary tour. Maiden had previously planned to take a break from live performances in 2027, so the announcement marks a change of plans.
Billboard reports that the band chose the new dates after enjoying its current leg through the United States and Canada. Rather than stop, the group decided to bring the show to regions it had missed.
Why is Iron Maiden coming back in 2027?
Bassist Steve Harris explained the decision in a statement, pointing to fans in the Northwest and Southeast who have supported the band for years.
“As many of our fans know, Maiden were planning on taking a break from live performances in 2027,” Maiden bassist Steve Harris said in a statement.
Harris said the North American shows had gone so well that adding dates felt like the right move. He called it only fair to fans who have given the group tremendous support over so many years.
According to a press release cited by Billboard, the 2027 dates will definitely be the final shows of the Run for Your Lives tour. Once they wrap, the trek will have played 107 shows in total.
The Live Nation-promoted leg opens at the Tacoma Dome and closes at UBS Arena. Billboard’s full schedule lists 14 dates, including those two, with the first half of the run covering the Pacific Northwest, British Columbia, Oregon and California before heading to Arizona and Texas.
Stops on the West Coast and in the Southwest include the Toyota Amphitheatre in Wheatland and the North Island Credit Union Amphitheatre in Chula Vista, California, along with the Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre in Phoenix. The Southeast and Northeast legs run through Tampa, West Palm Beach, Atlanta, Raleigh, and Hartford before the finale in New York.
Bullet For My Valentine and The Raven Age join the trek as special guests. Billboard notes that this is the first time since 1983 that Iron Maiden has toured with two other British bands on the bill.
Festival dates after the tour
After the North American run, the band will play two U.S. music festivals: Sonic Temple in Columbus, Ohio, on May 14, and Boardwalk Rock in Ocean City, Maryland, on May 16.
Harris added that Maiden has long enjoyed the many festivals in Europe and wanted to play a couple more in the United States. He noted that festival crowds are not only the band’s own fans, which makes every set a challenge.
“We can’t get everywhere but we can try!” Maiden bassist Steve Harris said in the same statement.
Tickets and presales
Tickets go on sale to the general public Oct. 23. An artist presale begins Monday, Oct. 19, and additional presales will run throughout the week, Billboard reports.
Presale timing matters for fans in the listed cities, since the public sale comes after the presale windows. Fans who want the full list can check the dates Billboard published with the announcement.
For fans who have followed the band through its 50th-anniversary run, the 2027 leg is the last chance to catch this tour. The trek ends in New York on May 11, 2027, after 107 shows in total.
