Bruno Mars’ Romantic Tour is setting records in Vancouver, and commuters are in on the fun. According to Billboard Canada, Mars is set to play five nights at BC Place, the most nights any artist has played the venue on a single tour. That beats the three Vancouver shows Taylor Swift played to close out her Eras tour, which had held the mark until now.

The fun starts on the way to work. TransLink’s SkyTrain will air special recorded messages from Mars on the nights of his Vancouver concerts, running alongside the regular broadcast announcements riders already hear. The partnership also brings in additional revenue, which helps support transit service across the region.

“Most people don’t expect to hear Bruno Mars while they’re heading to work, school, or a concert,” TransLink CEO Kevin Quinn said.

Quinn’s point is that the messages add a little surprise to an ordinary trip, and the transit system gets revenue in the process.

What will riders actually hear?

Mars recorded two versions. In one, he tells riders it is Bruno Mars, says he can’t wait to see them, and promises it is about to get real romantic that night. The second thanks riders for coming to The Romantic Tour and says he hopes to see them very soon. Both messages end with ‘I love you.’

The same idea played out in Toronto. The tour made its Canadian debut there in May, kicking off the 2026 concert season at Rogers Stadium, and Mars took over the TTC system with similar messages. Those played at Downsview Park, Wilson and Sheppard West stations, all of which connect to the 50,000-capacity stadium where he performed, Billboard Canada reports.

Mars also set a Toronto record of his own. He played more concerts at Rogers Stadium than any other artist on a single tour, with five shows. Vancouver is the second and final Canadian city on the trek, so the BC Place run closes out his Canadian dates.

The timing matters for fans planning their routes. The Vancouver dates fall in October, and the TransLink messages will play on each of those concert nights, so riders on the trains that day may hear them.

How big is the Romantic Tour overall?

The Romantic tour is Mars’ biggest trek to date, counting 127 stadium shows. It also broke Ticketmaster’s single-day sales record, with more than 2.1 million tickets sold in one day. Those figures place the Vancouver and Toronto runs inside a much larger tour.

The tour supports his album The Romantic, which debuted at the top of the Billboard Canadian Albums chart. At the same time, his track “I Just Might” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100. Both arrive after a busy stretch of chart success that includes hits with Lady Gaga and Rosé.

For fans, the next step is simple. Anyone riding SkyTrain on the nights of the Vancouver shows may hear Mars himself on the way to work or school, and the BC Place dates mark the final Canadian stops on the tour.
