U2 has announced its first 2027 tour dates, with stadium concerts in Mexico, Brazil and Argentina. According to Ultimate Classic Rock, the tour is called Carnaval de Luz Presents: The Greatest Show on Earth World Tour, and it starts in February. So far only six dates are on the schedule, which means the full map is still taking shape.

The stadium run opens on Feb. 23 with a concert at Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico City. A second night there follows on Feb. 26. Every date on the announced list is listed at a stadium, as the tour label makes clear.

In March, the band moves south. U2 will play two dates at Estádio MorumBIS in São Paulo, Brazil, on March 10 and 12. Then the tour stops at Estadio River Plate in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on March 23 and 25.

“It’s a dare, to ourselves as much as anyone, to try and have the best night of anybody’s life,” U2 said in a press release announcing the tour.

Just before that line, the band said the song’s title was a throwdown. The tour takes its name from the band’s latest single, and a video for that song is already out. Videos for two earlier singles are also available.

Which cities have U2 2027 tour dates so far?

So far the list covers three cities: Mexico City, São Paulo and Buenos Aires, with two nights in each. Ultimate Classic Rock reports that more dates are coming for Europe and North America, including concerts in Ireland, the band’s homeland, and those will be announced soon.

No dates in those regions have been set in the report, so the next announcements will fill in the rest of the schedule.

A busy run of new U2 music

The tour arrives during a busy stretch for the group. Their new album, Carnaval De Luz, comes out Nov. 13. It marks their first new original music since 2017’s Songs of Experience, and it is their 16th album. Counting the EPs and the 2024 compilation, the band has put out new material in each of the last few years.

Before that, U2 put out two EPs this year. Days of Ash arrived in February and Easter Lily in April. Those were the band’s first new music since 2023’s Songs of Surrender, which reimagined songs from their past catalog.

The band also released How to Re-Assemble an Atomic Bomb in 2024. That compilation pulled together leftover tracks from How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb, the Grammy-winning 2004 album.

Three singles have come from Carnaval De Luz so far: ‘Street of Dreams,’ ‘Silencio,’ and ‘The Greatest Show on Earth.’ The newest one gave the tour its name. Each of those singles has its own video, which the publication links alongside the article.

The album’s track listing has twelve songs. They include ‘Go (Carnaval De Luz),’ ‘La Reina,’ ‘Superficiality,’ ‘If The World Is At War We Better Not Be,’ ‘Glorify,’ ‘Midnight Sunshine’ and ‘Can’t Stop Us Now.’

Two tracks bring in guests. ‘The Mirror Maker’ includes Rosalía, and ‘Torn’ features Dolly Parton.

What comes next is the rest of the schedule. The publication says more Europe, North America and Ireland dates will be announced soon, and the album is due Nov. 13.
